Kennedy Mitchell And The Former Senior Management Officials
The financial industry is currently in need of individuals who understand the way it functions. Kennedy Mitchell is one of those individuals, who has both an understanding and a love of the industry. He has an extensive history in the financial industry, starting with being a junior portfolio manager at the hedge fund Coast Capital Management, which was located in Boston, Massachusetts. This multi-strategy firm hired him as a junior portfolio manager to trade currencies. This company sold in 1997, so Kennedy Mitchell and a number of the former senior management officials formed a new fund, Meridian Asset Management. He moved to San Francisco then and worked from 1998 until 2004. He came on board at Meridian Asset Management as a portfolio manager, again trading currencies. He later worked at another Connecticut-based fund called Graham Capital, too.
Kennedy Mitchell was born in New Haven, Connecticut, where he attended his early schooling and where his family has lived for generations. Indeed his family has a political history in the area—his dad was a longterm Comptroller and Mayoral Aide for four of the city’s mayors. The Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records in New Haven was named after him following his death in 1981. His great grandfather, William Kennedy, was a U.S. Congressman from Connecticut.
